The hypnosis feels similar to a guided relaxation. All you have to do is relax and listen. Most clients experience a feeling of relaxation and calm, and are fully aware of their surroundings throughout the process. Some people do relax into a slightly deeper state which can feel like daydreaming, floating, or even falling asleep.

During this relaxed state, your therapist is able to speak directly to your subconscious mind, making positive suggestions for changes that take effect in your daily life. These suggestions are reinforced and built up during subsequent sessions. However, unlike some forms of talking therapy, we often expect to see our clients for only a few sessions in order to make a real difference. It varies, but perhaps only 3-6 sessions might be needed to help with insomnia, nightmares or sleeping issues; 3-8 sessions to resolve anxieties or phobias; and usually just a single session to stop smoking or vaping.

It is possible to conduct Hypnotherapy sessions online with similar success to in-person sessions. Virtual sessions work in very much the same way - you need to be somewhere safe, quiet, and uninterrupted, and have a good internet connection. Some clients feel that in-person sessions lead to a better theraputic relationship. For others, online sessions are easier to schedule and just as effective. This also allows us to see clients from all across the UK, and from other parts of the world also. Please do ask if you are interested in booking online sessions.
